[Upcoming Event] Science Summit at UNGA80 – Diversity in Healthcare and Science: Advancing Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) to Tackle Global Health Challenges (September 23, 2025)

As part of the official program of the Science Summit 2025, held in conjunction with the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80), a Japan-led session titled “Diversity in Healthcare and Science: Advancing PPIE” will be held to address critical global health challenges through inclusive and participatory approaches.

This session aims to bridge gaps across rare diseases, common conditions like allergies, and diverse stakeholder roles—patients, families, clinicians, researchers—by promoting collaborative, people-centered healthcare innovation.

Dr. Haruka Sakamoto, Senior Manager at Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), will speak in the session, contributing perspectives on advancing patient and public involvement in healthcare and policy.
